Chris’s Wine of the Month
To produce a Gran Reserva Rioja this fine, you need fantastic vineyards, exceptional weather and most importantly, lots of love and expertise. This fabulous wine is aged in French and American Oak for 4 years and then spends 14 years resting in Pedro Urbina’s Cellar in Rioja Alta. Not a bad place to be!
This ‘Vino Grande’ is mature and elegant on the palate with a classic rustic quality. Rich and intense with explosions of mature fruit which caress the tongue. And last but not least this wine possess’ a glorious, velvety finish.
This is a unique 18 year old Rioja that excuse the pun…. can only described as ‘pure class in the glass.’ Perfect when paired with Roast Lamb and Charcuterie.
