Howard’s wine trip to Magnificent Mercuès

Springtime in Cahors – the perfect time for Helen and I to visit Chateau de Mercues with special clients!

Bertrand Vigouroux owner/winemaker was the perfect host as he took us a private tour of this 13th Century historic Château on the banks of the river Lot, we enjoyed a tutored tasting with Bertrand of his extensive range of wines in the immaculate cellars of this 5* Relais and Château Hotel.

The highlight of the trip was the fine wine and gourmet dinner in the Michelin* restaurant where we indulged in the finest cuisine of Cahors. We were treated to some rare vintage wines from Bertrand’s private cellar including 1999 “Cuvee 6666” – which blew our minds!
