Hi, I am Howard and Chris’ P.A. and have been with Charles Mitchell Wines since June 2001 – 22 Vintage Years!

Born in Harrogate and moving to Irlam in 1981 – joining CMW in 2001 where my job includes organising events such as the Gourmet Wine Tasting Events and the annual Christmas Wine Tasting at Mere Golf Club, I also liaise with our Clients and International Wine Producers.  During my time at  CMW  have met some wonderful people, producers and clients who enjoy the CMW experience.

In June this year I celebrated 22 years working with Howard and Chris.  It doesn’t seem that long and lots of great times have happened in that time.

When I started at Charles Mitchell my knowledge of wine was nil (drinking Hock or Liebfraumilch would probably explain it!!) and never drinking any red at all.  Howard said he would make it his mission to convert me to red wine, and although he has succeeded to a certain degree, I am not a huge red wine drinker, but I can appreciate a good red wine.

My personal favourite red wine at the moment is 2020 Pernand Vergelesses Premier Cru Romuald Valot it is stunning.

As for white wines I love Sauvignon Blanc such as 2021 Pouilly Fume ‘Plaisir’ Domaine Pabiot and 2020 Louis Vavasour Reserve Sauvignon. The 2021 Albariño – Santiago Roma  Sp. is a fabulous wine and very quaffable and great for any time. I also have found Tarras Pinot Gris 2022  N.Z. which is gorgeous
