Christopher Mitchell Pacey

Born amidst the bustling charm of Manchester in 1957, I embarked on a path that would shape my appreciation for life’s finer aspects. My educational journey took me from Moor Allerton to the picturesque halls of Ellesmere College in Shropshire, where my thirst for knowledge and refinement began to blossom.

In 1977, I delved into the world of wine, joining the ranks of St. Ferdinand and Pieroth Wine Growers, a significant chapter that laid the groundwork for my passion. The year 1981 marked a pivotal turn as I, alongside the visionary Howard Charles Domney, established Charles Mitchell Wines, a venture that would become synonymous with exceptional wine experiences.

My journey through wines has been graced with accolades that include the esteemed titles of Chevalier du Tastevin, Diplome Ecole du Vin de Bordeaux, Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne, and Vigneron d’Honeur du Beaujolais, a testament to my dedication to mastering the art.

Beyond the realm of wine, my interests include:

• Manchester United FC, I’ve been a fervent supporter for many years with a season ticket.
• Golf and Tennis and am a member of Mere Golf Club and Hale Tennis Club.
• Skiing, and am a member of G8 Ski Club.

My enduring fondness for specific wines has become part of my identity, my all-time favourites are:

• Red Wines: Chateau Pichon Lalande and Valduero Gran Reserva
• White Wines: Puligny Montrachet and Chateau d’Yquem
• Champagne: Champagne Bonville Grand Cru – Les Belles Voyes
