This month, I’m excited to share one of my personal favourites: the 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru from the Clos Reyssier estate. Winemaker Romuald Valot has crafted a Chardonnay that really captures the elegance of its limestone-rich terroir. I love the way the aromas of ripe white peach, citrus zest, and delicate florals are balanced by a subtle mineral edge, and the vibrant acidity makes it just as enjoyable now as it will be over the next few years.
It’s a wine I would happily bring out for a special dinner, a relaxed get-together, or even as a thoughtful gift for someone who enjoys fine Burgundy. Serve it chilled at 10–12°C, perhaps with shellfish, lightly cooked fish, poultry, or soft cheeses, and you’ll see why this Pouilly-Fuissé is so special. It’s a wine I’m keeping in my own collection — and I know it will quickly become a favourite for you too.
